ViWa 2020+ - Vienna Water Resource Systems 2020+
The city of Vienna is known for its excellent drinking water. This high quality must be secured in the long term.
The research collaboration ‘Vienna Water Resource Systems 2020+ (ViWa2020+) is investigating important questions for the future, ranging from raindrops to taps. The findings will serve as support for future-oriented operational management.
Together with the City of Vienna – Wiener Wasser and other partner institutions, scientific findings on sustainably securing the high quality of Vienna's drinking water are being put into practice:
- Molecular biological diagnostics
- AI-supported source forecasts
- New UV disinfection for karst springs
- Risk-based approach to monitoring water quality
